Respecting our Matrubhasha Hindi

It is quite astonishing that yesterday on Hindi Diwas there was such a little celebration that only some of the persons actually making the celebrations under compulsions must be knowing about it. Had it be Mothers day, Fathers day or friendship day etc. there would must have been much celebration and propanganda. Only making Hindi as our official sarkari language is not sufficient for upliftment of our own language. If we go thru the new channels, the words used are " Bari Khabrein" instead of " "Mukhya Samachar" or "Vishesh Samachar" . Being avaialbale to masses the electronic media as well as print media has a great impact on the general people. I think there must be some charter or guidelines for all the news channels to stick to Hindi in Hindi news and programmes. Even while interviewing the film personalities and other Indian prominent personalities the interviewer must insist on replying the questions in Hindi as it is commonly noticed that a question put in Hindi is replied in english for the reasons best known to the personalities. After all they are the prominent persons of India and if they cannot speak in Hindi how can we call it the official language and also such persons should not be called as representating India. Some of the exceptions to this Imposed English are Mr. Amitabh Bacchan who speaks fabulous Hindi, Mr. Shahrukh Khan who inspite of being on top of the world speaks good Hindi, Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee who is undoubtedly a good Hindi speaker and has even spoken in Hindi in UNO. A remarkable effort has to be credited to Mrs. Sonia Gandhi who tries to speak in Hindi in public meatings and never tries to avoid speaking Hindi. After all we have to respect our Matrubhasha.
