Horlicks to take on Maggi with Foodles
Glaxosmithkline Consumer Healthcare (GSKCH), known for its health and nutrition brands Horlicks and Boost, has forayed into the Rs 1,000-crore instant noodles market with `Foodles' under the Horlicks brand.
The company is at present test marketing the brand in south India and would take at least six moths to launch the brand nationally.The noodle market is dominated by Nestle's Maggi with 80 per cent stranglehold. GSKCH has tied up with Nissin, known for its noodle brand Top Ramen, for bringing out `Foodles'. It is not only using Nissin's manufacturing facility but also for know-how and consumer experience in the category.
