Indian's software helps to trace source of fakes
Software developed by a young Indian scientist is helping law enforcement agencies in the United States to trace the sources of fake and forged documents posing a major threat to business, industry and financial security.
Dr Gaurav Gupta, 30, from Haryana's Kurukshetra, got the 2010 young scientist award for this innovation and was honoured by former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam at the recent 97th Indian Science Congress in Thiruvananthapuram.
The software and methodology developed by Dr Gupta helps to identify and quantify imperfections and lead investigators to devices used to produce fake documents and digital signatures.
