President makes a historic flight
President Pratibha Patil on Wednesday became the first female President in the world and, at 74, also the oldest woman ever to fly in a fighter jet.
Sharp at 11 am, the Sukhoi 30MKI in which the President was seated in the cockpit took off from Pune's Lohegaon air station for a 25-minute sortie. She flew over the areas of Baramati, Daund, Shirur and Rajguru Nagar.
