Loyalists are missing Vajpayee
More than anything else, the raging controversies in the BJP have taken the sheen of the self-proclaimed Sardar Patel, who never tired of running down Dr Manmohan Singh as a `weak prime minister', and brought into sharp focus the contrasting styles of both Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Advani.
Former National Security Advisor Brajesh Mishra was the first one to comment on the different styles of functioning, an indication that party men are sorely missing Atal.
Mishra said that Jaswant Singh would not have been summarily expelled for his views on Jinnah if Atal had been active in the party.
