15,000 weddings in Delhi today: Will voting get hit?

The race to form the next government at the Centre hots up further Thursday when 85 constituencies in seven states and one Union territory go to the polls.

This includes all seven seats in Delhi and all 25 in Rajasthan, plus 18 seats in Uttar Pradesh, four in Punjab, 10 in Haryana and 17 in West Bengal.

In Delhi, where the score was 6-1 favouring the Congress in 2004, the way the wind blows will be vital for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which was trounced in last November’s Assembly polls. Political observers predict that the tally this time might be 5-2 in favour of the Congress.
