Andhra Pradesh issues 380 Government Orders in a day
On the day the elections were announced, the government issued a record 380 orders to beat the code of conduct which came into effect.
Of these 232 were issued till 5 pm, and dozens more were released till late into the night. More than 60 orders were issued by the revenue department, of which 10 were termed “confidential”.
Officials from all departments rushed to the general administration department to get their orders even as television channels were reporting the announcement of elections.
