The night when moon went red
Moon, on Sunday morning turned red. It probably knew it was Holi in India. In the early hours of 4th March, a total lunar eclipse occurred which made the moon look red and it took almost 6 hours for the earth's shadow to cross the moon.A lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth passes directly between the Moon and the Sun. Light scattering through the Earth's atmosphere is reduced to predominantly red wavelengths, which reflect off the lunar surface. The total eclipse lasted for over an hour, with Europe getting the best view.
The next lunar eclipse will occur on 28th August .
