SocialTwist Tell-a-Friend

Symtoms:
Sudden onset of fever with severe headaches, muscle/joint pains or rashes.
Other symptoms associated could include abdominal pain, nausea or diarrhea.
However most cases develop milder symptoms.

Treatment:
Diagnosis usually done clinically.
The supportive treatment includes encouraging the patient to take oral intakes, especially oral fluids.
Supplements with intravaneous fluids may be necessary to prevent dehydration.

Prevention:
Though several vaccine development programs are underway there is no commercial vaccine available for denque flavivirus.
The best prevention is eradicating the mosquito vector for dengue.
Avoid stagnant water, the water bodies in your surroundings need to be kept clean.
