Microsoft has started its own webcams LifeCam VX-3000 and LifeCam VX-6000. This webcam would be optimized for windows messenger and have come with cutting-edge video and audio quality experience.

Its defining features include:

• 5.0 megapixels interpolated
• Quality video (640x480 pixels) with 1.3 megapixels & 3X digital zoom
• 71-degree wide-angle lens – allows 3 into a conversation
• Built-in acoustic noise-cancelling microphone - crystal clear audio performance without adding clutter from extra headsets or external microphones
• Fun video effects to personalize & enhance the background of your video conversations
• Universal Attachment Base for easy & secure attachment to any size monitor

This new Microsoft LifeCams would have been spread out and widely available by august 2006.
The estimated retail price would be $99.95 for VX-6000 & $49.95 for VX-3000.
